In his regular practice of sharing insightful content, Mahindra often sheds light on lesser-known aspects. While many have visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar, not many are aware of this unique ‘temple of tea service.’ Mahindra himself plans to visit it on his next trip to the city, as mentioned in his Twitter post.
The ‘temple of tea service’ is managed by an elderly gentleman named Ajit Singh, affectionately known as ‘Babaji’ by his patrons. He runs a humble tea stall, warmly serving tea to all who visit. Surprisingly, he never demands payment from his guests, but instead, numerous people willingly offer an amount of their choice as a gesture of gratitude.
On Sunday, the industrialist shared a touching video created by YouTuber Amritsar Walking Tours. The video beautifully captures the essence of Babaji’s noble endeavour, showcasing his selflessness and dedication. A long-time customer also appears in the video, praising Babaji’s immense generosity. Despite facing various challenges, he remains committed, diligently serving customers from 9 am to 4 pm daily.
“Baba’s words are as enriching as his tea! Very rare to find such a beautiful soul in this mortal world. Never been to Amritsar, but will plan,” one user said.
Another said, “Our appreciation are just words. They deserve to get more from this World where they are just giving.”
One user said, “The city has a lot of magnetic qualities. Truly Golden city…..City with the legendary Golden temple and seems to have lovable human beings like Babaji too.”
