Baseball camp planned at Northmoreland Park fields
A baseball camp for children age 7 to 14 will be Aug. 19 at the Northmoreland Park fields in Allegheny Township.
Check-in will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Sponsored by Kiski Valley Baseball and Softball Association, there will be instruction in batting, fielding, pitching and catching. Lunch will be served and there will be a concession stand.
Cost is $50. Those registered by July 31 will receive an event T-shirt and walk-ins are welcome. For details and to register, visit kvbsa.org.
Summer food program continues at Vandergrift Public Library
Vandergrift Public Library will hand out free snacks and a juice box from 2 to 3 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 11 at the library, 128C Washington Ave.
Children 18 and younger who will enter school in the fall are eligible. The program is sponsored by Kiski Area School District and the Summer Nutrition Program.
Volunteers needed to aid seniors
Open Your Heart to a Senior is looking for volunteers to help their older neighbors.
