Teams of youth Christian mission groups are in our area this summer, working hard to help the needy and the elderly rebuild their homes and lives, and these young people need your help to safely fulfill their mission.
Over the next four weeks, there will be more than 200 youth and adult workers providing support throughout Hampton and Allendale counties on home and school repair projects, and assisting with other community projects.
These youth mission workers are sponsored by Brick, Inc., SERVE, and the Salkehatchie Summer Service, which typically serves this area every year. In the past, the Salk Summer students have repaired and refurbished scores of homes for elderly and low-income residents in need, while spreading examples of their Christian faith, and have become beloved by many in the community.
Temperatures will increase and these workers will need to stay hydrated. Mission organizers are seeking help from the community in collecting donations of bottled water, Gatorade, Gatorade Zero, or PowerAde to help these students.
