ROODHOUSE – A boil-water order has been put in place for the entire city of Roodhouse, according to the city’s water department.
The precautionary measure was put into effect at 2 p.m. Wednesday because of a water main break. It is in place until further notice.
Bottled water should be used for consumption, such as drinking and food preparation. If tap water is used, it should be brought to a full rolling boil for one minute and allowed to cool before use.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, tap water should not be used for brushing teeth and caution should be taken to avoid swallowing water while bathing or showering.
