Richmond’s craft beer scene is undeniably alive and kicking, and this past weekend it was showcased in all its hop-filled glory at The Veil’s Forever Summer Festival. This day-long celebration of ales, IPAs, stouts, and more brought together a community of brewers, foodies, and craft beer lovers under the historic roof of the Main Street Station in downtown Richmond. With sampling stations throughout the fest, people were really into it and having fun.
Over 40 renowned breweries from across the globe converged in our city, each bringing their unique concoctions and brewing styles. From Indiana’s 3 Floyds to Belgium’s Cantillon, from Florida’s Angry Chair to Oregon’s de Garde, the lineup was nothing short of spectacular. Local stars like Final Gravity, The Answer, and of course, The Veil proudly stood alongside these giants, flaunting Richmond’s thriving craft beer community.
And let’s not forget the food, with High Roller Lobster Co., Kwam’s Chicken Project, Rappahannock Oyster Company and TBT El Gallo providing mouthwatering good eats to pair with these stellar brews.
The festival wasn’t just about sipping good beer and enjoying good food, though. In the spirit of community, all proceeds from the event were donated to Childsavers, a Richmond-based non-profit organization that provides mental health services and child care resources. As beer lovers mingled and savored, they also contributed to a noble cause – a testament to the positive impact of such events on our community.
There’s no need to take our word for it, check out the photos.
